At Freedom House Detroit, every room holds a story.
A mother fleeing persecution.
A student forced to leave everything behind.
A father dreaming of safety for his children.
To support their work, we created two 30-second videos built around real voices from people Freedom House had helped. My role was making editorial decisions — what stays, what goes, what words surround someone's most vulnerable moment.
Thirty seconds. But these were anything but short stories.
Alongside a social campaign, the films raised $10,000 in donations, which got matched to $20,000 for Freedom House.
